Plum Upside-Down Cake
A soft buttery cake topped with caramelized plum slices that create a glossy, jewel-toned fruit layer when inverted.

Plum Upside-Down Cake is a beautiful fruit dessert featuring juicy plum slices caramelized beneath a soft buttery vanilla cake. After baking, the cake is inverted to reveal a glossy layer of tender plums arranged across the top. The slight tartness of the fruit balances the sweetness of the brown sugar and gives each slice a vibrant flavor. This cake is ideal for afternoon tea, family gatherings or a simple seasonal dessert. Use ripe but firm plums so they hold their shape during baking, and allow the cake to rest briefly before turning it out of the pan.
