Chocolate Almond Butter

Chocolate Almond Butter combines the rich nuttiness of roasted almonds with cocoa to create a smooth, chocolatey spread that works on toast, pancakes, fruit or oatmeal. Roasted almonds are processed until creamy before cocoa powder and a small amount of maple syrup are blended in. The recipe gives you control over sweetness and avoids the excessive sugar found in many commercial chocolate spreads. Process the almonds fully before adding the remaining ingredients because extra liquids introduced too early can interfere with the release of the natural almond oils.
